William Watson was a self employed joiner / Funeral Director from 1970.
As the Funeral Directing business grew it took over from the joinery side of work. William’s late father, also William, assisted in retirement as a driver in the business during the early years.
With no purpose built Funeral Directors business in Elgin, William and Isobel planned and built our current premises on Blackfriars Road which opened in October 1982.The premises was extended with additional rest rooms in 1985.
Throughout William’s funeral directing career his wife Isobel helped with the running of the family business.
Mark Watson in 1989 aged 20 entered the business, and in 2006 William and Isobel retired from the daily running of the business, which is now under the supervision of Mark, assisted by his wife Elaine, and staff, Peter, and Laura.
The retired partners of the business still play an active role in the family company.
